Sajha Prakashan Grand Book Exhibition Begins in Rajbiraj

A grand book exhibition has started in Rajbiraj, Saptari from Wednesday. The literary organisation Sajha Prakashan has begun the 15-day book exhibition to mark its establishment day.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Jitendra Khadka, Chairperson of the Sajha Prakashan Sansthan, Madhesh Province, at a formal programme. Speaking after the inauguration, he expressed concern that in the present age the number of readers who buy and read books and newspapers is decreasing.

He stressed that, along with the increasing use of alternative information sources and technology, the decline in readers of traditional media such as books and newspapers should also become a matter of concern for society and the nation.

Expressing the belief that such exhibitions help in the preservation of all languages, literature, art and culture, he pledged his support for improving educational standards, protecting and developing every language, literature, art and culture, and for the advancement of the literary institution Sajha Prakashan, which carries the investment of writers, poets, journalists and creators.

In this 15-day grand book exhibition, more than 2,600 titles related to literature, culture, art, history, religious texts and dictionaries have been displayed. According to Sajha Prakashan, works of more than 1,600 authors have been included, the exhibition will run until Poush 1, and books from various disciplines will be available at discounts ranging from 25 to 40 percent throughout the exhibition period.
