10th SQC Student Conference in Kapilvastu

The 10th conference of the Student Quality Circle (SQC) is being held in Kapilvastu with the aim of supporting students’ personality development and improving the quality of education. The two-day event is scheduled for Mangsir 5 and 6, 2082, at Sunlight English Boarding School in Bagdi, Shuddhodhan Rural Municipality, and is being organized by Quest Nepal Lumbini Hub. Details of the conference were shared at a recent press meet.

A total of 700 students from 17 schools in Kapilvastu are expected to take part, and students from 8 schools in other districts will attend as observers. Quest Nepal Lumbini Hub Coordinator Madan Malla said that the 17 participating schools are member schools of Quest Nepal, while students from the other 8 schools will join the conference in an observer role.

Malla explained that, under SQC, students are grouped in small teams. These groups identify problems faced by students, look into the causes and root issues, discuss possible solutions together, and then work to solve those problems themselves, taking support from others when needed. In this way, students gradually build their confidence and problem-solving skills.

The conference will feature a large cultural program, quiz and spelling contests, personality development and anchoring training, as well as sessions related to artificial intelligence. Competitions will also be organized in several other areas.

PABSON Kapilvastu Chairperson Dhirendra Bikram Singh said the conference is expected to be effective because students will be given responsibility for carrying out all the main activities. He added that the event is designed to support students’ physical, mental, and emotional development and offered his good wishes for its success.

Sunlight English Boarding School Managing Director Sachchidananda Tripathi said the conference will help students become more creative. He explained that the program is being organized in Kapilvastu so that local students can gain experience taking part in competitions alongside students who meet international standards.

At the press conference, Sunlight English Boarding School Managing Director S. N. Tripathi delivered the welcome remarks, and the program was conducted by Quest Nepal Lumbini Hub Secretary Dambar Bahadur Somai. Principals, teachers, and students from schools affiliated with the Lumbini Hub, along with heads and representatives of various media houses, were present.
