Two-Day Workshop on SEE Examination Management Begins in Pokhara

A two-day workshop has started in Pokhara, Gandaki Province, with the objective of making the operation and management of the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) more effective. The workshop has been organized by the Education Development Division under the Ministry of Social Development, Youth, and Sports of Gandaki Province.

The workshop is being attended by representatives of various stakeholder bodies related to the education sector, teachers, representatives involved in examination management, and officials from the concerned agencies. Chief of the Education Development Division Damodar Subedi said that, based on the report prepared from the workshop, the Gandaki Province Government would move forward with work in education in line with its authority and would recommend necessary matters to the federal government. He also pointed out the need to improve policy and management in a way that addresses problems seen from student registration to the time of receiving certificates.

Addressing the workshop, Gandaki Province Minister for Social Development, Youth, and Sports Bindukumar Thapa stressed that an important national examination like the SEE should be conducted in an organized, transparent, and effective manner. Stating that the development of a student-friendly and systematic examination system while improving the quality of education is among the priorities of the provincial government, he expressed confidence that there would be in-depth discussion among stakeholders involved in examination management on the exchange of experiences, identification of problems, and possible solutions.

Similarly, former Chair of the National Examination Board Dr. Mahashram Sharma said that Gandaki Province has been carrying out effective work in the field of education in accordance with its authority. Stating that continuous effort is needed to make the examination system more organized and of international standard by embracing changes in information, communication, and technology, he expressed the view that improvement in the examination system can be achieved through transparent, practical, and systematic management.

Chief of the National Examination Board Gandaki Province Office Subash Pant has pointed out the need to give special attention to managing the SEE examination in a technology-friendly manner.
