CEHRD directs action against unregistered child development teacher organizations in Nepal
The Center for Education and Human Resource Development (CEHRD) has issued directives to the Committee of Child Development Teachers to take action against unregistered organizations operating in Nepal. The move comes after a complaint was lodged with the Abuse of Authority Investigation Commission regarding the collection of money by various programs conducted by these organizations.
In response to the complaint, the CEHRD has instructed the education development and coordination units of all 77 districts of the country to take necessary action by issuing a circular. Letters have also been written to the units by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology to ensure compliance with the rules related to the registration of organizations.
It was found that the Nepal Child Development Teacher Central Committee and Child Development Child Worker Sangharsh Committee had charged individuals between 500 to 1000 rupees per person for conducting various programs. The Authority had written a letter to the Secretary of Education to investigate and take action against the organization and the person as it appeared that the organization was not registered.
On February 2, 2023, the Abuse of Authority Investigation Commission decided to cut the salary in the name of the Secretary of the Ministry of Education for failing to take necessary action. Consequently, the Ministry of Education has instructed the CEHRD to take immediate action against unregistered organizations conducting activities related to child development teachers.
The CEHRD's recent directives indicate a commitment to ensuring the accountability of organizations that operate without following government regulations. This move is expected to promote transparency and strengthen the country's education system.
