Electricity Access in Only 69.6% of Schools, Internet in 85.4%

The Economic Survey 2082/83 has shown that electricity access has still not fully reached schools in Nepal. According to the survey, electricity has reached 69.6 percent of schools across the country, while internet access has reached 85.4 percent of schools.

The survey mentions progress in school reconstruction after the earthquake. It states that the construction of 7,672 schools has been completed so far.

In terms of student welfare, scholarships were provided to more than 1.54 million students of community schools in the academic session 2082. During the same period, 2.7 million students benefited from the midday meal program.

Regarding human resource management, 271,344 teachers are working across the country. Among them, the proportion of female teachers is 43.7 percent, according to the survey.

The teacher-student ratio was found to be 24 in community schools and 29 in institutional schools.
