EPS Korean Language Test for 67,000 Applicants

The EPS Branch under the Department of Foreign Employment will start the first-phase Korean language test for the production sector on Monday, Mangsir 1, 2082.

This test is for Nepali workers who have applied to go to South Korea in 2025 through the Employment Permit System. Among 102,000 applicants who submitted forms for the language test, exams for 67,000 candidates in the production sector will begin from Monday.

According to the EPS Branch, youths who are already listed in the roster to go to South Korea have been asking the authorities not to hold a new test and have requested that they be sent to Korea first.

Despite this, the branch has scheduled the language test for 67,000 candidates in the production sector and plans to complete these exams within two months. Nepal and South Korea are preparing to publish the language test notice at the same time on Monday.

In total, 102,515 candidates will sit for the Korean language test. For the first phase, 67,000 production-sector candidates have been placed in priority, and their exams will be conducted first.

The EPS Branch is also preparing a separate date for candidates from the agriculture and livestock sector. There are 35,000 candidates in this group, and their language test will be held on another scheduled date.

Recently, South Korea has been preparing to conduct the language test to bring in a large number of Nepali workers. Among the 17 EPS member countries, South Korea has requested the highest number of workers from Nepal.

If the language test is delayed due to internal reasons within Nepal, there is a possibility that the worker quota currently given to Nepal may be shifted to other EPS member countries.
