Far Western University 6th Convocation Held, 2,489 Graduate

Far Western University’s Sixth Convocation Concludes, 2,489 Students Graduate

Mahendranagar — The sixth convocation ceremony of Far Western University was held on Friday under the chairmanship of Minister for Education and Sports Sasmit Pokharel. A total of 2,489 students graduated at the ceremony, while Dr. Tulsi Kumari was conferred in the PhD category.

According to Controller of Examinations Anuradha Rokaya, the students included in the ninth grace list had received their transcripts. The ceremony was attended by students as well as their parents. Of the total graduates, 767 students attended the ceremony wearing gowns.

The faculty-wise details of students attending with gowns are as follows:

Faculty of Education: 242 students

Faculty of Management: 239 students

Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences: 182 students

Faculty of Engineering: 53 students

Faculty of Agriculture Science: 33 students

Faculty of Science and Technology: 18 students

Medal-Receiving Students

At this year’s convocation ceremony, the Dean’s Medal was awarded to four students for the first time. The details of the medal recipients are as follows:

Dean’s Medal: Mathura Prasad Upadhyay, Kailash Raj Bhatt, Ayusha Joshi, and Bharat Saud

Chancellor’s Medal: Nishant Chand, Faculty of Management

Vice Chancellor’s Medal: Kailash Raj Bhatt, Faculty of Agriculture Science

Gold Medal: Lalit Karki, Durga Devi, Nishant Chand, Prem Bahadur Rokaya, Diwakar Pant, Bharat Saud, Kavita Joshi, Rajin Bohara, and Kailash Raj Bhatt

Tikapur Campus Land to Be Brought into Use

Addressing the ceremony, Minister for Education and Sports Sasmit Pokharel urged the graduates to apply the knowledge gained from the university in practical life. Expressing appreciation to the parents who played an important role in helping the students earn their degrees, Minister Pokharel said the government is committed to bringing into use 300 bighas of land owned by the university at Tikapur Campus.

Similarly, the chief guest of the program, litterateur Prof. Dr. Tulsi Prasad Joshi, addressed the graduating students and said they must acquire the ability to translate knowledge into life and practice. He emphasized that a convocation ceremony should not merely provide certificates, but should also enable graduates to put initiation and education into practice.

Four Media Personnel Also Graduate

Four media personnel working in Kanchanpur also graduated at the sixth convocation ceremony. The graduating media personnel were Suraj Shrestha, Madan Giri, Kalpana Saud, and Santoshi Pandey. Among them, the details of three persons disclosed in the source are as follows:
