KU Starts M.E. in Green Infrastructure Engineering
Kathmandu University School of Engineering (KUSOE) has launched a new master’s program titled M.E. in Green Infrastructure Engineering under the Department of Environmental Engineering. The program aims to prepare engineers capable of developing climate-resilient and sustainable infrastructure for the future.
The program places strong emphasis on green and nature-based infrastructure solutions. Nepali and international students who have completed a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Architecture, or a related engineering discipline may apply. Applicants must meet the minimum academic requirements as per Kathmandu University rules.
The program is structured as a 60-credit course, including 18 credits of core courses, 27 credits of interdepartmental electives, and 15 credits of thesis work. The curriculum prioritizes research, field-based learning, and practical projects. It also offers a flexible study plan that allows students to design an interdisciplinary course pathway based on their interests.
The program incorporates principles of climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction, life cycle assessment, and circular economy. The university has informed that the admission process will open soon.
