Motherland Secondary School Holds Three-Day Cultural Program
Pokhara, February 9, 2026 (Magh 26, 2082 BS).
A three-day cultural program was conducted at Motherland Secondary School, Pokhara 7, Masbar, Kaski.
Along with students’ dance and singing, the event also created space for students to showcase their abilities through painting and other creative works.
The school also organized demonstrations ranging from bhajan to yoga. Singing and dance remained regular features throughout the event.
Programs spanning from art to glass, and from bhajan to yoga, drew significant attention.
The school has been conducting a three-day cultural program every year to help students present their inherent abilities.
In the 31st edition held this time, the program included bhajan, yoga, drama, as well as singing and dance.
According to Principal Dr. Narayan Baral, students had the opportunity to participate in at least one program.
He said students demonstrated whatever skills they had within the three-day period, and also presented activities based on their interests.
He added that students created various artistic materials by reusing discarded items. Students skilled in art prepared different works and displayed them in the exhibition.
Those interested in bhajan performed bhajan, those interested in yoga demonstrated yoga skills, and drama performers acted accordingly.
He noted that while dance and singing are common everywhere, this program allowed students to present activities aligned with their interests, beyond routine formats.
Plus Two In-Charge Narayan Acharya said the school managed activities according to students’ different abilities.
He stated that the activities were planned with the aim of involving as many students as possible over three days, enabling them to reveal hidden talents.
He said programs ranging from dance and singing to artworks attracted many participants, and that drama, bhajan, and yoga especially captivated everyone present, from participating parents to the school community.
On Saturday, Chief Guest Shadananda Gautam, Chair of PABSON Kaski, said Motherland School’s results represent the country not only domestically but also at an international level.
He said the art exhibition confirmed that students’ learning is possible outside the classroom, and stated that Motherland Secondary School has become an educational hub.
He added that schools from Kathmandu and other cities have regarded Motherland as a place to learn in terms of educational quality.
School Director Dr. Tribhuvan Sharma said students learned collaboration skills through the programs conducted over three days.
He stated that students who had not previously received opportunities to demonstrate their abilities were able to prove themselves, and also presented examples of teamwork by working in groups.
He added that the school is always ready to provide the skills students need.
School Management Committee Chair Premnarayan Pokharel said extracurricular activities at the school contribute to students’ overall development.
