Birendranagar, Surkhet, February 8, 2026 [2082 Magh 25 (BS)]
The Planning Council meeting of Mid-West University was concluded in Birendranagar, Surkhet. The meeting held an in-depth discussion on the presented draft related to the University’s upcoming five-year strategic plan and decided to finalize it within one week.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Dhruva Kumar Gautam, who also serves as the Chair of the Planning, Development and Monitoring Council, thanked everyone involved, stating that the strategic plan has become a document that all stakeholders can claim ownership of, as their views were reflected in the plan-building process.
He noted that drawing up an attractive plan alone can create difficulties during implementation, and therefore the plan has been prepared in alignment with actual resources and realistic possibilities.
The Vice-Chancellor emphasized that the University is an institution with continuous succession, and that the new strategic plan has been developed to break the tradition of changing plans with changes in leadership. He stressed that following the plan accordingly will support institutional stability.
He further stated that the strategic plan serves as a guideline for other action plans and can help develop more concrete, unit-level action plans.
