Janakpurdham Schools Closed for Three Days for Vivah Panchami
As preparations for the Vivah Panchami festival intensify, Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City has decided to close all community and institutional schools within its jurisdiction for three days.
Official Notice on School Closure
The Education, Youth and Sports Development Section of the sub-metropolitan city has issued a notice stating that teaching and learning activities in schools will remain suspended from Mangsir 8 (Monday) to Mangsir 10 (Wednesday) on the occasion of Vivah Panchami.
Every year, a week-long celebration is held to commemorate the auspicious wedding of Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram and Goddess Janaki. The notice mentions that, as in previous years, a large number of devotees are expected to visit Janakpurdham this year as well. Due to the expected crowd and the need for sanitation management, schools are to remain closed during this period.
Call for Support in Managing Pilgrims’ Facilities
In the notice, Section Chief Anju Pandey has requested local communities, schools, and all concerned stakeholders to cooperate in arranging accommodation, cleanliness, and drinking water facilities for devotees coming to participate in the Vivah Panchami fair.
Festival to Be Observed on a Large Scale
The Vivah Panchami festival in Janakpurdham draws a very high number of visitors every year. Preparations are underway to celebrate the festival on a large scale this year as well.
