Beni Community Secondary School in Myagdi, which has been performing as one of the best community schools in the district, has started teaching through a digital smart board.
Smart Board Installation Under Digital-Friendly Campaign
As part of its campaign to make the school digital-friendly, the school, located at the district headquarters in Beni, has installed touchscreen smart boards with Android 14.0 version and AI technology, along with various other features.
According to Principal Dipak Shrestha, seven smart boards have been installed in the first phase, from the school entrance to the classrooms, and teaching has started using them.
First Phase: Classes 9 to 12
Principal Shrestha said that, because the smart boards use digital technology, it is convenient to search for and teach the required subject matter in the classroom.
In the first phase, the school has installed smart boards in Classes 9, 10, 11 and 12. Once financial resources are managed, the school aims in the second phase to install smart boards in all classrooms from Classes 5 to 8 at the basic level.
Interactive Learning and Use Without a Teacher
Teacher Madan Subedi said that the educational materials required for classrooms will be available on the interactive (smart) boards, and that students will be able to study and practise even in the absence of a teacher.
Because educational activities can, when needed, be stored safely and shared directly with students and parents using email and QR codes, and displayed through other electronic devices as well, the use of the smart boards is considered effective.
High-Speed Internet and Existing E-Attendance System
The school has stated that, along with the installation of smart boards, high-speed internet has also been installed.
Before this, the school had already introduced an “e-attendance” system, under which students scan the chip embedded in their identity card on a device.
Student Numbers and School Visits
From the basic level up to Class 12, 1,400 students are studying at the school. A total of 189 schools from across the country have visited the school.
