Project Update

Construction of an administrative building has begun at Solukhumbu Multiple Campus located in Solududhkund Municipality–5, Solukhumbu, with an estimated cost of about NPR 42 million.

Solududhkund Municipality Mayor Namgel Jangbu Sherpa laid the foundation stone and stated that Solukhumbu Bahumukhi Campus has been established as an important center for the district’s educational development.

Emphasizing that education is the foundation for building a prosperous society and nation, Mayor Sherpa clarified that the local level has given high priority to investment in education. He also expressed the municipality’s commitment to provide continuous support to enhance the campus’s educational quality and develop its physical infrastructure.

Campus Chief Uddhav Kumar Sharma informed that the campus has served for about 32 years as an educational center for Upper Sagarmatha, including Solukhumbu, Okhaldhunga, and Khotang. He said construction work for the administrative building began on 23 Ashoj and will be completed by 2083 Poush 30.

Chief Sharma stated that the total budget for the building, including VAT, is NPR 41,982,150, and that this amount is a full grant from Solududhkund Municipality. He said that quality education is not possible without qualified and motivated teachers, staff, and student-friendly infrastructure, and that investment in physical structures is essential for the campus’s long-term development.

At the campus, teaching and learning have been conducted up to the master’s level in the Faculty of Education, and up to the bachelor’s level in the Faculties of Commerce and Humanities.

Municipal Spokesperson Phurwa Gyaljen Sherpa, journalists, campus teachers, staff, former students, and other local stakeholders were present on the occasion.
