Tribhuvan Model Secondary School Baglung Distributes Scholarships to 249 Students

Tribhuvan Model Secondary School, located in Badigad Rural Municipality-2, Kharwang, Baglung, has distributed scholarships to 249 students studying at the school. The school distributed scholarships worth a total of Rs. 179,900 from the Government of Nepal, endowment fund donors, and its internal sources.
According to the school’s accountant, Geeta Pokharel, scholarships were distributed at the rate of Rs. 400 per student to 176 Dalit and female students from Grades 1 to 5, as provided by the Government of Nepal. Similarly, scholarships were provided to an additional 73 students at the rate of Rs. 1,500 each from the endowment fund established at the school and the school’s internal sources.
Meanwhile, the school’s principal, Dhalmani Bhandari, informed about the government’s scholarship targeted at economically disadvantaged students and said that this year, 15 students from Grade 6 and 23 students from Grade 9 have been selected for the scholarship. According to him, 19 students currently in Grade 7 and 14 students currently in Grade 10 are studying with this scholarship.
Under the scholarship targeted at economically disadvantaged students, the government has been providing Rs. 6,000 annually per student directly to the student’s account.
Among community schools, this school has the highest number of students at the primary level. At present, more than 1,100 students are studying at the school.
Tribhuvan Model Secondary School is the only school in Badigad Rural Municipality that offers Science at the Grade 11 and 12 levels. In addition, the school has also been teaching Crop Science from Grades 8 to 12 under the technical stream.
