
17,229 Students Apply for KMC Scholarship Quota 2082/83
Kathmandu Metropolitan City invited applications for admission into institutional schools under the scholarship quota for Grades 11 and 12 for the academic session 2082/83. A total of 17,229 students have applied.
According to Education Officer Laxmi Paudel of the Education Department, applications have been received from all 77 districts across the country.
Breakdown of Applications by Stream
As per Paudel:

Science: 12,337 students

Management: 4,481 students

Humanities: 34 students
-
Education: 104 students
-
Law: 273 students
These figures show a significant inclination toward the Science stream, which alone constitutes nearly 71% of total applications.
Application Verification and Admission Card
Currently, all received applications are being verified at a rapid pace. This verification process is expected to be completed by the morning of Asar 32. Following that, the remaining procedures will be finalized so that students can download their admit cards from Shrawan 1 onwards.
The admit card can be accessed by entering required details through the official website of Kathmandu Metropolitan City. The card will also include information about the designated exam center.
Exam Schedule and Structure

Exam Date: Shrawan 3

Time: 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM
The scholarship entrance examination will be based on the Grade 10 curriculum and will include:

Mathematics (compulsory): 30 questions

Science: 30 questions
-
English: 30 questions

General Knowledge: 10 questions
All questions will be multiple-choice.
Pass Marks and Evaluation
To pass the exam, candidates must score a minimum of 40 percent.
There will be no negative marking for incorrect answers.
Scholarship Selection and Purpose
Scholarships will be awarded based on the merit list generated from the exam results.
The main objective of this program is to offer students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds the opportunity to pursue quality education in Grades 11 and 12 through selected institutional schools.
