Pre-Primary Level

The Pre-Primary level provides early childhood education through child-centered and activity-based learning. Children learn through play, stories, music, art, interaction, and exploration.

The program supports basic literacy, numeracy, communication skills, creativity, discipline, independence, values, and social habits. The school also follows the Montessori approach in ECD classes.

Basic Level: Grades 1–8

The Basic Level program focuses on language, mathematics, science, social studies, life skills, discipline, and moral development. Teaching-learning activities encourage curiosity, teamwork, creativity, and critical thinking.

The school follows a Continuous Assessment System at this level. Computer studies are compulsory from Grade 1 to Grade 8. Students from Grade 1 to Grade 8 also study the local subject Nepal Bhasa.

Secondary Level: Grades 9–10

The Secondary Level prepares students for national-level examinations and higher secondary study. The curriculum follows the guidelines of the Government of Nepal.

Students are guided through classwork, practical sessions, weekly tests, revision activities, counseling, and career guidance. ICT-supported classrooms and structured evaluation practices support academic progress.

In Grade 9, students choose one subject from Additional Mathematics and Economics for Optional First. They also choose one subject from Accountancy and Computer for Optional Second.

Students who want to study technical subjects must pass an aptitude test after Grade 9 registration. The technical stream has 48 seats, and admission is prioritized by merit order and time. Classes for students in technical subjects operate in the morning.

Ten Plus Two (+2) Science

Ten Plus Two (+2) Science at Gyanodaya Secondary School is affiliated with NEB. The program supports students interested in medicine, engineering, computer science, information technology, biotechnology, and other science-related fields.

The Science program includes academic areas connected with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, and Computer-related study options. The school supports Science learning through science laboratories, ICT-based classrooms, and practical sessions.

Students who have completed Grade 10 and wish to continue to Grade 11 must have obtained a minimum average GPA of 1.6 in the Secondary Education Examination.

Ten Plus Two (+2) Management

Ten Plus Two (+2) Management at Gyanodaya Secondary School prepares students for further study in business, accounting, economics, hotel management, computer science, marketing, and related fields.

The program follows the NEB structure and covers management concepts such as planning, organizing, leading, and controlling. Learning activities include classroom study, case-based discussion, presentation, project work, and ICT-supported teaching.

Ten Plus Two (+2) Law

Ten Plus Two (+2) Law introduces students to legal studies, justice systems, constitutional principles, civic responsibility, and social issues.

The program helps students develop legal understanding, analytical thinking, logical reasoning, and awareness of rights and responsibilities. It prepares students for higher studies in law, public administration, social sciences, governance, and related areas.

The Law curriculum includes Constitutional Law, Nepalese Legal System, Procedural Law, Civil and Criminal Law and Justice, Jurisprudence and Legal Theories, and Legal Drafting.

Ten Plus Two (+2) Civil Engineering

Ten Plus Two (+2) Civil Engineering is a technical stream at Gyanodaya Secondary School. The school also conducts Civil Engineering from Grades 9 to 12 under general, technical, and vocational education.

The program combines classroom instruction with practical training. Students use engineering workshops, AutoCAD labs, and drawing labs for hands-on learning. The program covers technical areas such as surveying, construction technology, structural concepts, drawing, and engineering-related skills.

Evaluation System

Gyanodaya Secondary School follows a structured evaluation system. A 100% Continuous Assessment System is used from Nursery to Grade 3. At higher levels, assessment includes CAS, written examinations, practical assessments, regular tests, weekly examinations for board classes, feedback, and progress reporting.

Only students with regular attendance are allowed to participate in examinations. Progress reports of terminal examinations are distributed within 15 days after the examination is completed, and parents must be present to collect the report.

Admission Process

Gyanodaya Secondary School follows an annual admission process with seat allocation, entrance examination, counseling, and admission formalities.

Before the admission process begins each academic year, the school announces available seats for each class from Nursery to Grade 12. Students seeking admission from Class 1 to Class 12 must appear in a written entrance examination. The examination evaluates academic level, subject knowledge, and readiness for the applied grade.

For Nursery to Class 1, admission assessment is conducted through an oral or interactive evaluation. The assessment focuses on communication, recognition, behavior, and learning ability.

For Class 11 and Class 12, students appear in the entrance examination and may attend a need-based interview. The interview supports stream selection, academic planning, scholarship consideration, and student counseling.

The admission office provides front desk counseling for new students and parents. Counseling covers course selection, admission procedures, documents, fee structure, and school policies.

Rules and Student Information

Students at Gyanodaya Secondary School must attend classes regularly and come in school uniform. Students wear house dress on Tuesday and Friday and school uniform on other days. Students are not allowed to wear valuable ornaments.

Students who damage school property must pay compensation. Information related to uniform and textbook lists is available on the school notice board.
