Pakistan’s Ambassador to Nepal, Abrar H. Hashmi, inaugurated and handed over the newly established computer laboratory at Gyanodaya Secondary School in Bafal, Kathmandu.

According to the Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu, the laboratory, established with grant support from the people of Pakistan, is a part of the continued assistance for education and digital learning in Nepal.

On the occasion, Ambassador Hashmi praised the leadership of the school management, teachers and the active participation of the community, highlighting that their dedication and effective management have led to visible and sustainable educational outcomes.

He stressed the importance of students embracing modern education and digital transformation while also learning about their rich culture and traditions.

He encouraged students to take advantage of information and communication technology and to engage in exploring emerging fields such as artificial intelligence, e-commerce, innovation and fintech. He also appreciated the announcement by students and community leaders to establish a Nepal–Pakistan Friendship Society at the school.

Students warmly welcomed the commitment of the Embassy of Pakistan to support the school’s music and sports clubs. It is expected that such initiatives will further deepen the friendship between the Embassy of Pakistan and the school, and expand and strengthen relations between the two peoples and countries.

At the inaugural ceremony, community leaders, representatives of local government, former Governor and former Vice-Chairperson of the National Planning Commission of Nepal Dr Dipendra Bahadur Kshetry, Chairperson of the School Management Committee Ram Babu Koirala, teachers, Chairperson of the Parents’ Association Diwakar Bhattarai, Chairperson of Ward No. 13 of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Dhruva Narayan Manandhar, Chief of the District Education Coordination Office Dr Samantamani Acharya, Chief of the Education Department of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Keshav Gyawali, and school Principal Bishnu Ghimire Rimal, among other civic and social figures, were present.
