Applications are invited to fill vacant officer posts (Second Lieutenant/Sub Lieutenant) in the Nepal Army through open and inclusive competition. Required Qualifications
Educational Qualification
-
For certificates issued before the implementation of the Letter Grading Directive, 2078:
-
For Officer Cadet: Minimum GPA 2 / CGPA 1.6 or above, with at least D+ in all subjects.
-
For Graduate Officer Cadet: Must have completed a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Mathematics must have been taken as a compulsory subject in the SLC/SEE examination.

For certificates issued as per the Letter Grading Directive, 2078:
-
SEE qualification must be minimum GPA 2 or above with original certificate obtained.
-
For Class 12 qualification: Minimum GPA 1.6 or above with original certificate obtained.
-

The basic military training period for Graduate Officer Cadet will be 12 months.
Physical Qualification

Height: Minimum 5 feet 3 inches (Male), Minimum 5 feet (Female)

Chest: For males, minimum 32 inches (normal) and 34 inches (expanded)

Weight: Minimum 50 kg (110 lbs) for males, Minimum 40 kg (88 lbs) for females

Eyesight: For candidates using glasses, eyesight must not be weaker than -2
Other Qualifications

Must be declared medically fit.

Must not have been punished by a court for moral turpitude or criminal offense.
-
Must not be a member of any political party at present.
-
Must not be involved in or associated with criminal or destructive activities.

Must not have been punished for spying against Nepal or violating human rights and humanitarian law.

Must not have been dismissed from service in a way that disqualifies future government employment.
Age Limit

For candidates with +2 or equivalent qualification: 18 to not exceeding 21 years on 2082/06/04 (Born between 2061/06/04 to 2064/06/04).

For candidates with Bachelor’s degree or equivalent: 18 to not exceeding 24 years on 2082/06/04 (Born between 2058/06/04 to 2064/06/04).

For candidates applying through preliminary centers, all exams from wearing to written will be held at the same preliminary recruitment center, while remaining exams will be conducted at locations specified by the Directorate of Recruitment Selection.

Employees of Nepal Government or semi-government organizations must submit departmental approval at the time of application.

Male candidates under inclusive categories can compete under only one of Indigenous, Madhesi, or Dalit communities. This condition does not apply to female candidates. Candidates from backward areas (male/female) can apply under the backward area category as well.

Female candidates will be included in combat-related duties, combat support, or combat service support roles, but not in direct combat duties/close combat roles.

Candidates (except serving soldiers) must be unmarried and cannot marry during the training period.

Special Notice
As per the order of the Honorable Supreme Court issued on 2079/10/24 in relation to Writ No. 078-WO-0382 (where the Directorate of Recruitment Selection, Nepal Army, was among the respondents), necessary legal arrangements regarding inclusive groups will be made.
Provisions will also cover vacancies lost in FY 2079/80 due to non-inclusion under inclusive categories. Until then, vacancies are being filled as per prevailing law.
