Madhesh Agricultural University, Rajbiraj, has published an official notice for new student admissions to the four-year B.Sc. Agriculture (Hons.) program for the 2083/084 academic session. According to the notice, eligible applicants may submit online applications from Asar 32 to Shrawan 21, 2083 BS.

The minimum academic qualification for admission is at least 50% marks or a ‘C’ grade with a GPA of 2.0 in a 10+2 or equivalent examination in the Science or Agriculture stream. The application fee is Rs. 2,000, which must be paid online through eSewa or Khalti.

The entrance examination will consist of multiple-choice questions carrying a total of 100 marks. Applicants must obtain at least 40% to pass.

The university has allocated 50 seats, including merit and reserved quotas for Madhesh Province, Dalit, Indigenous Nationalities, Tharu, Muslim, persons with disabilities, local residents, and other groups. Applicants must scan and upload the required academic certificates and official quota-related certificates or recommendation letters with the online application.

For the 2083/084 academic session, this notice has been published for all concerned eligible students who wish to study the four-year B.Sc. Ag. Hons. program under the Faculty of Agriculture at Madhesh Agricultural University, Rajbiraj, Saptari. Online applications will be accepted from 2083/03/32.

Applicants must submit their academic transcripts and citizenship certificates with the online application form. Those applying under reserved quotas must scan and submit the relevant quota certificate or recommendation letter and attach one recently taken passport-size photograph showing both ears.

Applicants who completed the certificate level at an institution outside Nepal must submit the original equivalence certificate at the time of admission.

1. Online Application Process

Applicants must complete the application form themselves through the following online portal:

Applications containing false or incomplete documents or information will be disqualified.

2. Minimum Academic Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

They must have passed the SEE or an equivalent examination with at least a second division or a ‘C’ grade.
They must have completed I.Sc. in Science, Agriculture, Animal Science, or Forestry; 10+2 Science; or 10+2 Agriculture or an equivalent qualification.
They must have studied English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics.
They must have obtained at least 50% of the total marks. Under the letter-grading system, they must have obtained an aggregate ‘C’ grade with a CGPA/GPA of 2.0.
Applicants who studied 10+2 Agriculture Science and whose transcripts do not show marks in Mathematics must combine and upload an additional marksheet confirming that they studied Mathematics as a PDF. The additional marksheet must show at least 50% under the percentage system or a ‘C+’ grade with a GPA of 2.4 under the letter-grading system.
When an applicant does not have an aggregate 10+2 transcript and has only a Grade 12 transcript, the Grade 12 transcript will be used as the basis for determining eligibility. Such applicants must combine and upload their Grade 11 marksheet with the Grade 12 transcript as a single PDF.

Applications submitted without meeting the prescribed qualifications will be declared ineligible, and the applicants will not be allowed to participate in the entrance examination.

3. Application and Examination Fee

The entrance examination fee is Rs. 2,000 only and must be paid online.

Applicants must visit http://entrance.mau.edu.np/ and click the online payment button. Payment can be made only through eSewa or Khalti.

After completing the payment, applicants must use the voucher code received to complete the entrance examination application form.

4. Application Date and Time

Online applications can be submitted 24 hours a day during the following period:

5. Distribution of Admit Cards

After the online application deadline, applicants will be able to download their admit cards online on the date specified by the university.

Applicants must:

Open any web browser.
Enter http://entrance.mau.edu.np/
Click “Check Your Status.”
Enter the required information.
Click search to view the admit card.
Take a mandatory colour printout of the admit card.

6. Question Paper and Entrance Examination Details

The entrance examination will contain 100 multiple-choice objective questions based on the certificate-level or 10+2 subjects listed below.

7. Basis of Admission and Publication of Results

The marks obtained in the entrance examination will carry 100% weight.

A merit-order list will be prepared based on the entrance examination marks, and the names of candidates selected for admission will be published.

The minimum pass mark for the entrance examination is 40%.

When two or more applicants obtain equal marks, the ranking will be determined based on the following criteria in sequence:

Total marks or CGPA obtained in I.Sc. or 10+2.
Marks obtained in Botany at the SEE/SLC level.
Marks obtained in Zoology at the SEE/SLC level.
Marks obtained in Chemistry at the SEE/SLC level.
Marks obtained in Physics at the SEE/SLC level.
Marks obtained in Mathematics at the SEE/SLC level.

Information concerning the results and merit-order list will also be published on the university’s website.

The decision made by the university, faculty, or admission committee will be final.

8. Classification of Merit and Reserved Quotas

The university has allocated 50 seats for applicants who pass the entrance examination.

The allocation includes 10 merit seats; reserved and local seats; and full-fee seats under the University Development Fund and College Development Fund quotas.

Conditions for Reserved Quotas

For the Madhesh Province quota, both the applicant’s permanent address and the community school where the applicant studied must be located within the same province. The applicant must submit a recommendation letter from the relevant metropolitan city, sub-metropolitan city, municipality, or rural municipality office in Madhesh Province.

Except for the female quota, applicants seeking admission under any other reserved quota must submit the required certificates or recommendation letters from the relevant authority in the prescribed format through the online application system.

Applications submitted without the required supporting documents will not be processed.

Admission under all quotas will be based on the marks obtained in the entrance examination and the applicant’s merit position.

Required Documents for Individual Quotas

Madhesh Province quota: A certificate verified by the relevant local level or District Administration Office under the Madhesh Province Government.
Dalit quota: A certificate verified by the National Dalit Commission and the relevant local level or District Administration Office.
Indigenous Nationalities and Tharu quota: A certificate showing that the applicant’s community is listed with the Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities or the Tharu Commission, or a certificate verified by the District Administration Office.
Muslim quota: A certificate verified by the National Muslim Commission and the relevant local level or District Administration Office.
Economically disadvantaged Khas-Arya quota: A certificate verified by the relevant authority, local level, or District Administration Office.
Persons with Disabilities quota: A certificate verified by the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens and the relevant local body.
Martyr’s family quota: A recommendation letter certified by the District Administration Office of the relevant district and the concerned ministry of the Government of Nepal, confirming the applicant’s relationship as the husband, wife, son, or daughter of the martyr.
Conflict-affected family quota: A recommendation letter certified by the District Administration Office of the relevant district and the concerned ministry of the Government of Nepal, confirming the applicant’s relationship as the husband, wife, son, or daughter of the conflict-affected person.
Staff quota: A copy of the citizenship certificate confirming the relationship between the concerned teacher or employee and the applicant as husband, wife, son, or daughter, along with a recommendation from the head of the employing institution.
Local quota: A recommendation letter confirming that the applicant is a local resident of Rajbiraj Municipality, where the college operated under the university’s Faculty of Agriculture is located.
