Abukhairani Campus

Abukhairani Campus (आँबुखैरानी क्याम्पस) is a community-based campus established in 2006 AD (2063 Bhadra 29) in Aanbookhaireni-3, Tanahun, Gandaki Province, Nepal. It is affiliated with Tribhuvan University (TU) and offers undergraduate education in Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS) and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.).

The campus serves around 300 students, with girls making up about 90 percent of the student population. Spread over 10 ropanis of land, the campus has grown from operating regular classes in school buildings to using its own academic building. Support from the University Grants Commission (UGC) for equipment and books has also contributed to its academic development.

Academic Profile

Abukhairani Campus offers two TU-affiliated bachelor-level programs: BBS and B.Ed. Both are undergraduate programs run under the university framework. The campus has focused on maintaining access to higher education in Tanahun through these academic streams.

The BBS program provides study areas in Accountancy, Economics, and Finance. The B.Ed. program includes subject areas such as English, Nepali, and Population. These programs reflect the campus’s role in supporting both management education and teacher education at the local level.

As a TU-affiliated institution, the academic process of admission, examinations, and results is aligned with university rules and the applicable academic calendar. This places the campus within the standard structure followed by TU bachelor-level programs.

Campus Development and Facilities

Since its establishment, the campus ran regular classes using school buildings. Over time, physical infrastructure developed on its own land area of 10 ropanis. A major step in this development was the construction of the campus building in Aanbukhaireni Rural Municipality-3, Tanahun with financial assistance from the Indian Embassy in Nepal.

Construction of the building began in Falgun 2069 BS and was completed in 2072 BS. The completed structure is a two-storey building with 24 rooms for undergraduate use. This gave the campus a more stable academic space for running its regular programs.

UGC support for equipment and books has also contributed to campus resources. The available facilities and student support services include a library, sports, multimedia, counseling, scholarships, classrooms, a conference hall, educational tours, and extracurricular activities. The campus also organizes seminars, workshops, and regular interaction programs as part of its academic environment.

Student Composition and Campus Role

The campus has a student population of about 300, and around 90 percent of the students are girls. This is a notable feature of the institution and shows its role in widening access to higher education for female students in the area.

With undergraduate programs in education and management, the campus has built a local academic presence in Tanahun. Its community-based foundation, TU affiliation, and steady infrastructure development have shaped its identity over the years.
