Eligibility

Students are eligible to apply for B.Sc.Ag. after completing I.Sc. (Basic Science), I.Sc. (Agriculture), or 10+2 in Science or Agriculture Science.

Required subject background includes:

• Biology: 100 marks

• Chemistry: 100 marks

• English: 100 marks

• Mathematics: at least 50 marks

• Physics: 50 marks

Applicants must have secured at least 50 percent marks in aggregate from Tribhuvan University or other recognized universities and boards.

Admission Process

Admission to the B.Sc.Ag. program is merit-based through a competitive entrance examination. Since 2074 B.S., the optical mark reading system has been used for processing and scoring answer sheets in the entrance examination.

Teaching and Learning System

The B.Sc.Ag. program follows the semester system. Each academic year has two semesters. One semester covers 90 effective working days for teaching and about two weeks for final examinations.

Courses are instructed in English. The academic structure includes classroom teaching, field and laboratory work, and study visits.

Evaluation and Examination

The evaluation system follows the semester-based IAAS structure. In theory subjects, 20 percent of full marks is evaluated through internal assessment, and 80 percent is allocated to the semester examination.

Students must secure at least 40 percent marks in the internal assessment to qualify for the final examination. In final examinations, students must pass theory and practical components separately with at least 40 percent marks.

A student must attend at least 70 percent of classes in each subject to be eligible for the final examination.
