The B.Sc. Ag. curriculum covers agriculture-related disciplines through classroom teaching, fieldwork, laboratory work, study visits, practical courses, and research-oriented academic activities. The program includes study areas such as agronomy, horticulture, soil science, agricultural economics, agricultural extension, plant breeding, plant pathology, entomology, livestock production and management, animal nutrition, aquaculture and fisheries, agricultural statistics, enterprise learning, and research practices.

The revised curriculum carries a total of 167 credit hours, including 106 theory credit hours and 61 practical credit hours. The final semester includes Fundamental of Research, Practices and Seminar, which is intended to support student work in production, marketing, data analysis, seminar presentation, and scientific report preparation.

Admission Process

Eligibility for B.Sc. Ag.

Students are eligible to apply for B.Sc. Ag. if they have completed I.Sc. Basic Science, I.Sc. Agriculture, or 10+2 Science/Agriculture Science with compulsory Biology, Chemistry, English, Mathematics, and Physics, securing at least 50 percent marks in aggregate from Tribhuvan University or other recognized universities and boards.

Teaching and Learning Methodology

The academic delivery of the B.Sc. Ag. program combines classroom teaching with field and laboratory-based activities. Practical learning is part of the curriculum, and students take part in field visits, laboratory work, and agriculture-related academic exercises.

The curriculum is taught in English and follows the semester system. The program includes both theory and practical components, with practical courses and field-oriented activities forming an important part of agriculture education.

The B.Sc. Ag. program also includes Agri-enterprise Learning Program courses and Fundamental of Research, Practices and Seminar. These components connect academic learning with enterprise exposure, production practices, marketing methods, data analysis, seminar presentation, and scientific reporting.

Evaluation and Examination System

The B.Sc. Ag. program follows the semester system. Each academic year has two semesters, and one semester includes 90 effective working days for teaching, followed by about two weeks for final examination.

Theory courses include internal assessment and semester examination components. Internal assessment covers 20 percent of full marks in theory, while the semester examination covers 80 percent. Practical examinations are conducted separately, and students must pass theory and practical components separately.

Students must secure at least 40 percent marks in internal assessment to qualify for the final examination. A student must also secure at least 40 percent marks in theory and practical separately to pass each subject. A minimum of 70 percent attendance in each subject is required to be eligible for the final examination.
