Historical Background

From its academic offerings, Drabya Shah Multiple Campus is the largest and oldest community campus in Gorkha District. During its establishment, higher education opportunities outside the humanities stream were limited in the district. With financial support from the then District Panchayat and the initiative of 14 local intellectuals and social workers, the campus was founded in 2042 B.S. at Shree Shakti Secondary School in Patechaur.

Initially, the campus began by offering certificate-level programs in the humanities. Over time, it expanded to run bachelor and master's level classes, including BA, BBS, B.Ed., MA, and MBS. In 2051 B.S., with support from local intellectuals and guardians, Shree Mahalaxmi Secondary School provided 30 ropanis of land, and since then, the campus has operated from its current location.

Quality Assurance and Future Outlook

The campus has adopted a forward-looking approach to academic service. It has aligned its academic activities with changing times and, in 2079 B.S., received QAA certification from the University Grants Commission (UGC), reflecting its commitment to quality assurance.

This recognition has led to tangible improvements in academic operations. Building on its infrastructure and educational legacy, the campus now plans to introduce new market-relevant programs such as BBA, BCA, and BSIT. These additions aim to meet national needs for competent graduates and make a meaningful contribution to society.
