Parbat Multiple Campus was established through the initiative of local residents, intellectuals, and social workers who wanted a local institution for higher education. A public gathering of Phalebas residents decided to operate a community campus in 2040 BS, and the institution was formally established in 2041 BS after receiving affiliation from Tribhuvan University.
The campus is situated about 11 kilometers south of the district headquarters on the flat land of Devisthan Ward. It lies on the left side of the Kali Gandaki River and has historically served students from surrounding settlements and local bodies. At a time when many nearby areas had no access to higher education, the campus became a study center for students from dozens of surrounding communities.
The institution began with Proficiency Certificate level teaching in Management and was once known as Parbat Commerce Campus. Humanities and Management teaching expanded in 2043 BS. Bachelor’s level affiliation was added in 2052 BS, and the Faculty of Education was added in 2064 BS. The +2 program that had operated for a period was transferred to Shree Janata Secondary School in 2068 BS. At present, the campus runs four-year bachelor-level programs.
The campus was also built with direct community participation. Local residents contributed labor for the physical construction of the campus, and local donors supported its early development. That background still shapes the campus identity as a locally supported public institution focused on widening higher education access.
Parbat Multiple Campus currently runs three bachelor-level programs under the Tribhuvan University framework.
Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS)
This program is offered under the Faculty of Management. It is a four-year full-time bachelor’s program under the annual system.
