Pokhara Lincoln International College (PLIC), affiliated to Lincoln University College, is an academic institution located in Simalchaur, Pokhara. PLIC was founded in 2012 with the objective of establishing itself as a model center for Prime Management Studies in Nepal. The college is promoted by two renowned educational institutions: Little Step Higher Secondary School and B.M.G Higher Secondary School.

Initiative to Award International Degrees

PLlC understands the persistent anxiety caused by the outflow of brilliant minds aspiring for foreign degrees. Therefore, in liaison with LUC, it has taken an auspicious initiative to bring home and award international degrees to such aspirants domestically. This initiative has not only provided a platform for students to pursue their dream degrees in Nepal but has also helped retain brilliant minds in the country.

B.M.G Higher Secondary School: Education with Sound Infrastructure B.M.G Higher Secondary School is a well-founded educational institute located strategically in Lekhnath Municipality Ward no-1, about 13 KM east of Pokhara City. The school was founded in 2047 B.S. and is run by an individual family that has enough physical resources (Land and Building) to expand the educational program. Lekhnath Municipality is a fast-growing suburban that has a central administrative office and teaching faculties of Pokhara University.

Little Step Higher Secondary School: Quality Education in the Heart of Pokhara Little Step Higher Secondary School is a renowned institute with great infrastructure and educational facilities. The school was established in 2039 B.S. and is situated at the heart of the Pokhara Sub-metropolitan city, Simalchaur. It is also run by a family who has a keen interest in investing and serving in various fields of education. Currently, the school offers programs from Montessori to (10+2) level course and is financially sound with enough physical resources (Land and Building) to expand higher level education programs.

Effective Evaluation Methodology at Pokhara Lincoln International College (PLIC)

Pokhara Lincoln International College (PLIC) is an academic institution that aims to provide quality education to its students. The success of the academic program at PLIC is entirely dependent on the effective implementation and efficient control of the evaluation methodology. The college undertakes continuous evaluation of its students on the basis of their progress and performance in regular class tests, quizzes, assignments, presentations, practical demonstrations, etc.

Evaluation Criteria

Apart from academic performance, PLIC also evaluates other traits such as punctuality, obedience, cleanliness, cooperation, attitude, and regularity of the students. Each of these is considered an integral component of the evaluation process, and students are required to participate in all the activities prescribed by the college while adhering to the college’s codes of conduct, norms, and practices. PLIC maintains a record of each student’s performance, and only after they have fulfilled all the prerequisites, are they eligible to appear for the semester-end or terminal examinations.

Grading System

PLIC follows a standard grading system to evaluate the students' performance. The grading system is based on marks obtained in examinations and coursework. The grades range from A (Distinction) to TL, X, MITM, TD, G, XG, which are considered as failing grades. The grading system is as follows:

  • 100-80: A (4), Distinction
  • 79-75: A- (3.67), Very Good
  • 74-70: B (3.33), Satisfactory
  • 69-65: B- (3)
  • 64-60: C (2.67), Pass
  • 59-55: C- (2.33)
  • 54-50: D (2)
  • 49-47: D- (1.67), Fail
  • 46-44: F (1.33)
  • 43-40: F- (1)
  • Below 40: TL, X, MITM, TD, G, XG (0)

Total Grooming Efforts at PLIC

PLIC understands that grooming professionals require adequate industry exposure and research assignments. Therefore, the college's total grooming efforts comprise of 50% from lecturer methods, 20% from coursework, 10% from tutorials/quizzes, and 20% from midterm examinations. This methodology aims to provide a well-rounded education to its students and prepare them for a successful career ahead.

Courses Offered:

Bachelor (Hons) of Business Administration (BBA): This undergraduate program aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the core concepts and principles of business administration. The curriculum covers a broad range of subjects such as accounting, finance, marketing, human resource management, operations management, and business strategy. Students also get to participate in internships and practical training to gain hands-on experience in the business world.

BSc Hons. in Hospitality Management (BHM): This undergraduate program is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the hospitality industry. The curriculum covers a range of topics such as food and beverage management, hotel and resort operations, tourism and travel management, and hospitality marketing.
