Overview
Purachaudi Multiple Campus is a community-owned campus located at Purchaudi Municipality-1, Hat, Baitadi, Sudurpashchim Province, Nepal. Established in 2008 AD (2065 BS), the campus is affiliated with Tribhuvan University and supported by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Nepal.

Institutional Background
Purachaudi Multiple Campus was established in the Purchaudi area of Baitadi to expand local access to bachelor-level education. The area is located in the north-eastern part of Baitadi district and has faced geographical, economic, and educational barriers. The campus was established as a community initiative after receiving affiliation from Tribhuvan University on BS 2065/09/05.
The campus began without its own permanent land, building, or physical infrastructure. From BS 2065 to Magh BS 2069, classes were conducted in the building of Shree Dileshwari Higher Secondary School at Haat-4. The campus later developed its own permanent infrastructure on land registered in its name.
Local education supporters, intellectuals, teachers, traders, political workers, parents, donors, local bodies, and the general public contributed to the establishment and growth of the campus. Its community identity remains central to its academic and institutional work.
Mission and Institutional Objectives
Purachaudi Multiple Campus was established to provide bachelor-level educational opportunities in different disciplines for students in Purchaudi and surrounding rural communities. Its mission includes widening access to higher education, developing physical and human resources, improving academic programs, and supporting students from marginalized groups and women.
The campus also works as a community-owned, not-for-profit institution with partnerships involving government agencies, local bodies, business groups, donors, and public stakeholders. Its stated goals include providing higher education in Purchaudi, fulfilling curriculum objectives, encouraging enrollment of Dalit, ethnic, and disadvantaged students, and qualifying for UGC accreditation.
Academic Programs
Purachaudi Multiple Campus runs bachelor-level programs in two academic streams: Education and Management. The Education stream began after TU affiliation in BS 2065, while the Management stream through BBS began after TU affiliation in BS 2070.
Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)
The B.Ed program at Purachaudi Multiple Campus is offered under the Faculty of Education, Tribhuvan University. The campus conducts B.Ed teaching and learning in English, Nepali, Population Education, and Economics.
Duration: 4 years, annual system
Eligibility: Students who have passed PCL or an equivalent examination from a recognized school or board are eligible to apply at the campus level. Under the TU B.Ed structure, students with HSE, PCL, Grade 12, or an equivalent qualification are eligible, with additional requirements depending on the selected specialization area.

The TU four-year B.Ed annual system includes communication skills, professional core courses, specialization major courses, specialization minor courses, and teaching internship or practicum. Students must pass 22 courses carrying 2200 full marks to complete the degree.
Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS)
The BBS program at Purachaudi Multiple Campus is offered under the Faculty of Management, Tribhuvan University. The campus started BBS after receiving TU affiliation for the Management stream in BS 2070.
Duration: 4 years, annual system
Eligibility: Students who have passed PCL or an equivalent examination from a recognized school or board are eligible to apply at the campus level. The TU BBS eligibility standard requires successful completion of 10+2 in business/commerce or an equivalent course recognized by TU, along with other entry requirements prescribed by the Faculty Board or campus.

The TU BBS structure includes foundation courses, core business studies, concentration courses, business research methods, and a final project. The degree extends over four academic years and requires completion of 19 courses of 1950 marks and a final project report of 50 marks.
Class Schedule
Purachaudi Multiple Campus conducts classes in both morning and day shifts for its bachelor-level programs.
Morning Shift: 7:00 am to 11:30 am
Day Shift: 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm

Admission Process
Admission to bachelor-level programs under Tribhuvan University follows the rules of the relevant faculty, Dean’s Office, and campus. Eligible applicants submit the prescribed application form with required academic documents after the admission notice is published. Depending on the program or campus rule, admission may include an entrance examination, merit-based selection, or both.
Selected applicants complete admission by submitting the required documents and paying the prescribed fees. Academic registration, examinations, and results follow TU rules, guidelines, and the applicable academic calendar.

Examination and Academic System
The B.Ed and BBS programs at Purachaudi Multiple Campus follow the TU annual system. For bachelor-level annual-system programs, final examinations are conducted by Tribhuvan University through the Office of the Controller of Examinations. Course curriculum, examination procedures, and results follow TU rules and the applicable academic calendar.
For BBS, final evaluation is conducted through annual examinations. Students must meet the minimum attendance requirement and pass theory, practical, and project components separately where applicable. The BBS graduation requirement includes the 19-course structure and final project report prescribed by the TU Faculty of Management.
Teaching and Academic Environment
Purachaudi Multiple Campus conducts classroom teaching through subject-wise teachers. Teaching activities include classroom instruction, projector use, discussion methods, and subject-level interaction among teachers.
The campus has arranged 6 full-time subject-wise assistant lecturers and 7 part-time subject-wise teachers for academic work. Administrative work is supported by 5 full-time staff members and 1 watchman. Since its establishment, the campus has produced 685 bachelor-level graduates.
The campus has also taken part in institutional quality processes under the Higher Education Reform Project of UGC. It has passed the first PRT stage under the QAA process and completed preparation for the second phase of PRT.
Infrastructure and Facilities
Purachaudi Multiple Campus has developed its physical infrastructure with support from UGC, Purchaudi Municipality, local bodies, donors, and community stakeholders. The campus has a permanent two-storey building with 22 rooms and 2 halls, along with constructed gates. The building includes teaching rooms, office rooms, meeting space, and toilet facilities for students and staff.
A 10-room boys’ and girls’ hostel has been completed with support from UGC and Purchaudi Municipality. A separate 4-room building has also been completed with support from the Sudurpashchim Province Government.
The campus has computers, laptops, printers, a router, projectors, a scanner, furniture, desks, benches, books, reference materials, newspapers, magazines, and academic calendar materials. Equipment purchased through UGC support in 2079/080 includes computers, laptops, projectors, photocopy machines, printers, and routers.
Library and Learning Resources
The campus library is located in a hall on the first floor of the campus building. It contains textbooks, reference books, magazines, and newspapers. Library resources have been added through support from UGC, local bodies, and other sources.
The campus also has educational equipment and reference materials for academic use, including computers, projectors, printers, photocopy facilities, books, newspapers, magazines, bulletin materials, and furniture.

Sports, Water, Sanitation, and Access
Sports facilities at the campus include a badminton court, cricket pitch, and volleyball court. Indoor games include chess and carom board.
Drinking water is available inside the campus premises through a storage tank and water taps. The campus also has toilet facilities for staff, common use, and boys and girls.
The campus is located near the main road on the northern side of Hat Bazaar. A footpath connects the campus area from the road.
Departments, Cells, and Committees
Purachaudi Multiple Campus has formed departments, cells, and committees to support academic, administrative, and student-related functions. These include the Management Department, Education Department, Public Grievance Hearing Committee, UGC PMC Cell, EMIS Cell, Research Management Cell, Library Development Committee, Extracurricular Activities Development Committee, Classroom Management Committee, Practice Teaching Committee, Tracer Study Committee, Alumni Committee, and ICUT Committee.
These units support teaching, learning, records, library development, practice teaching, student activities, research-related work, and institutional processes.
Community Engagement
Purachaudi Multiple Campus has a community-based institutional identity. Local people and stakeholders have supported campus activities such as anniversary programs, general assemblies, sports, workshops, seminars, discussions, extracurricular activities, and the availability of local resources and materials.
The campus has also taken part in social activities in Purchaudi Municipality, including open defecation-free programs, awareness programs, health promotion activities, literacy-related activities, school visits for educational improvement, and society visit campaigns for education-sector development, admission support, and grievance hearing.
