Overview
Established in 2014 AD (2071 BS), Western Nepal College of Engineering and Management (WNCEM) is a CTEVT-affiliated technical institution in Tulsipur, Dang. The college offers hands-on training through pre-diploma Civil Engineering and Electrical Engineering programs. These courses are open to students who have completed their SEE and passed the required entrance exam.
Focusing on practical learning and regional skill development, WNCEM has contributed to technical education by preparing mid-level professionals for real-world applications in engineering.
Mission, Vision, and Purpose

To strengthen technical education in Nepal by helping students gain practical knowledge and workplace-ready skills that meet the demands of local communities.
Mission
To deliver quality technical education that supports students from diverse backgrounds and encourages their participation in Nepal’s growing infrastructure and utility sectors.
Core Purpose
-
Build strong technical foundations through practical teaching
-
Support student access through scholarship opportunities
-
Connect classroom learning with hands-on fieldwork
-
Address the need for trained technicians in rural and semi-urban regions
Programs Offered
Pre-Diploma in Civil Engineering
This 18-month program prepares students for field-based roles like Civil Sub-Overseers. It includes instruction in construction basics, site layout, surveying, and using tools and drawings.
-
Total Seats: 40
-
Eligibility: SEE passed + entrance exam
-
Scholarships: 4 seats (via CTEVT quota)
Graduates are well-suited for work in construction, local infrastructure projects, or further diploma-level study.
Pre-Diploma in Electrical Engineering
This program trains students in electrical systems, maintenance, and wiring for both residential and commercial settings. Students learn through theory, lab practice, and field tasks.
-
Total Seats: 40
-
Eligibility: SEE passed + entrance exam
-
Scholarships: 4 seats (via CTEVT quota)
The course leads to job roles such as Electrical Sub-Overseers, especially in local utilities, small industries, or construction.
Previous Courses
In earlier academic years, WNCEM also offered short-term and pre-diploma programs such as:
-
Veterinary JTA (Junior Technical Assistant)
-
TSLC in Civil Engineering
-
Certificate in Ayurved General Science
These courses supported local health, agriculture, and basic engineering needs, further widening the institution’s reach in applied learning.
Learning Environment and Teaching Approach
At WNCEM, teaching focuses on practical skills rather than just classroom theory. Students regularly participate in:
-
Lab-based sessions with tools and equipment
-
Project-based tasks and model-building
-
Field visits and basic site work
-
Clear step-by-step instructions from experienced teachers
This approach helps students understand how to apply what they learn and prepares them for entry-level roles after graduation.
Scholarships and Student Access
To improve access for students from underprivileged backgrounds, WNCEM provides scholarship opportunities in both programs. Four seats in each intake are reserved for full scholarships through the CTEVT entrance process. These scholarships aim to support students who may not otherwise be able to afford technical education.
Facilities
WNCEM offers a modest but focused set of facilities that meet the core needs of technical learning:
-
Civil and electrical labs with essential tools
-
Classrooms with whiteboards and model samples
-
Course materials aligned with the CTEVT curriculum
-
A small reference library for engineering and science subjects
-
Access to supportive faculty for academic guidance
Conclusion
Western Nepal College of Engineering and Management is a practical choice for SEE graduates interested in skill-based education. By focusing on affordability, hands-on learning, and technical accuracy, the college helps young learners take their first steps toward careers in construction and electricity services.
