Eligibility and Entrance

Applicants must have passed SLC, SEE, or an equivalent qualification with at least a C Grade or 2.0 Grade Point in Mathematics and Science and a 1.6 Grade Point or equivalent in English. Admission is also open to candidates who have completed a related pre-diploma or equivalent program with a minimum score of 68.33%.

All applicants must pass the entrance examination administered by CTEVT. Each semester covers 19.5 academic weeks, including the evaluation period, with at least 15 weeks allocated to teaching and learning.

Subjects and Academic Structure

The first year builds the academic base required for engineering study. Subjects include Applied Nepali, Applied English, Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Physics, Engineering Chemistry, Engineering Drawing, Computer Application, Workshop Practice, and Applied Mechanics.

Students also select elective subjects from areas such as Geographical Information System, E-Commerce, Management Information System, E-Governance, Computer Simulation and Modeling, and Artificial Intelligence. Minor and major projects allow students to apply their learning to practical computer engineering problems.

Practical Learning and Assessment

Teaching includes lectures, tutorials, demonstrations, guided practice, laboratory work, case analysis, fieldwork, project work, and industrial practice. The major project requires students to plan, develop, document, demonstrate, and defend a computer engineering solution under supervision.

Assessment includes regular internal evaluations, theory examinations, practical examinations, continuous assessment, and project evaluation. Students must secure at least 40% in theory and 50% in practical components and pass every subject for certification. Those who complete all six semesters receive the Diploma in Computer Engineering.

Graduates may pursue technical work in computer and information technology-related organizations, including communication, banking, business, software, hardware, and network-support settings. Opportunities depend on individual skills, experience, organizational requirements, and available positions.
