The Pre-Diploma in Civil Engineering (Civil Sub-Overseer) at Chitragupt Institute of Technology (CIT), Bardibas, is an 18-month CTEVT-affiliated program that prepares students for entry-level roles in the construction and infrastructure sector. This course focuses on applied learning and equips learners with the technical and field-level skills needed in public works, building projects, and infrastructure development.
The program is intended for SEE graduates interested in engineering but prefer a skill-based, field-oriented path.
The course follows the standardized curriculum approved by CTEVT and includes:
Basic engineering drawing and drafting
Building construction practices
Surveying and leveling
Estimating and cost calculations
Construction materials and methods
Site supervision and safety management
Students also participate in project-based assignments, hands-on fieldwork, and supervised technical practice.
The main objectives of this program are to:
Train civil sub-overseers with practical field experience
Support local and national infrastructure projects
Build capacity in rural and urban construction practices
Create self-employment opportunities in the construction sector
Graduates can work in municipal offices, construction firms, infrastructure projects, and consulting companies. Many also become independent contractors or technicians involved in community projects, road construction, or irrigation systems.

Admission through the entrance exam conducted by CTEVT
Submission of SEE mark sheet, citizenship or birth certificate, and two passport-size photos

Construction supervisor in rural or municipal projects
An entrepreneur in small-scale civil works
Four scholarships are offered out of 40 available seats under CTEVT-prescribed quotas, including seats for female students, marginalized groups, and applicants from under-resourced backgrounds.
