Practical Learning, Projects, and Internship
Practical work is integrated into subjects such as programming, electronics, digital logic, microprocessors, databases, networks, web technology, artificial intelligence, and parallel computing. Laboratory activities require students to complete assigned exercises, maintain practical records, execute programs, and demonstrate their work.
Minor Project I appears in the sixth semester, followed by Minor Project II in the seventh semester. These courses allow students to apply concepts from programming, system analysis, databases, software engineering, and related subjects.
The eighth semester includes a four-credit internship. It places practical experience near the end of the program after students have completed most core and advanced computing subjects.
At MEGA College International, computer laboratories, library resources, seminar halls, and Wi-Fi-enabled classrooms support the academic requirements of the course.
Elective Tracks
Far Western University recommends four elective tracks:
-
Programming Track
-
Database Track
-
Networking Track
-
Algorithmic Track
Elective options include Net Centric Computing, Database Administration, System Administration, Digital Image Processing, Data Mining and Warehousing, Geographic Information System, Neural Networks, Enterprise Application Development with Java, Advanced Database Design, Network Administration, Mobile Application Development, Distributed Database Management Systems, Wireless Networks, Cloud Computing, Information Retrieval, E-Business and E-Governance, Embedded System Programming, and Human-Computer Interaction.
Evaluation System
Student performance is assessed through internal and external evaluation. Internal evaluation carries 40 marks and may include assignments, quizzes, attendance, presentations, term papers, mid-term examinations, and group work. The semester-end examination carries 60 marks.
Students must secure at least 50 percent in internal evaluation to appear in the semester-end examination. A minimum of 80 percent class attendance is also required. The external examination includes multiple-choice, short-answer, and long-answer or case-study questions, with no negative marking for the multiple-choice section. Practical examinations are conducted for laboratory-based courses.
Skills Developed Through the Course
Through its subjects and practical components, the program may help students develop skills in:
-
Programming and algorithmic problem-solving
-
Database design and administration
-
Computer systems and operating systems
-
Data communication and networking
-
Software analysis and development
-
Web and Java programming
-
Research methods and technical writing
-
Project planning, presentation, and teamwork
Skill development depends on regular practice, laboratory participation, project work, academic performance, and independent study.
