Course Focus
The program begins with the concepts and functions required to understand how organizations operate. Students study communication, managerial economics, organizational behaviour, statistics, marketing, accounting, finance, human resource management, and international business during the first half of the course.
The later semesters place greater emphasis on research, operations, entrepreneurship, strategic decision-making, concentration subjects, internship experience, and thesis preparation. Students select a concentration area that remains connected across their advanced courses and seminar work.
Eligibility
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university. They must have completed at least 15 years of formal education, comprising 12 years of schooling and a minimum three-year bachelor’s degree.
Applicants are required to have secured at least a CGPA of 2.0 or second-division marks at the bachelor’s level.
Admission Process
Far Western University’s Faculty of Management announces applications for the MBA program. Candidates obtain and submit the prescribed application form through the concerned department or campus after paying the applicable application fee.
Applicants must sit for the Management Admission Test conducted by the Faculty of Management. Selection is based on entrance-test merit and the number of available seats.

Banking and Finance subjects include financial markets, international financial management, investment analysis, portfolio management, commercial bank management, and financial-services marketing.
Marketing covers consumer behaviour, advertising, sales promotion, service marketing, social marketing, and strategic brand management. Accounting includes corporate accounting, corporate taxation, accounting information systems, and advanced management accounting. Human Resource Management covers employment relations, employee development, performance management, conflict management, and negotiations.
Internship and Thesis
The internship is completed during the third semester and places students in an organization or relevant field setting. It connects management theory with supervised workplace experience and requires students to prepare an internship report in the prescribed format. The internship period is approximately six to eight weeks.
The thesis is completed during the fourth semester as an independent academic study. It involves fieldwork, research design, data collection, analysis, and written reporting. Thesis evaluation includes the written work and a viva voce examination.
Evaluation System
Each course is evaluated through internal and external assessment. Internal evaluation carries 40 percent and may include quizzes, assignments, presentations, classroom participation, term papers, group discussions, and mid-term examinations.
The semester-end examination carries 60 percent and is administered externally by the Office of Examinations. Students must pass the internal and external components independently. Final results are determined from combined performance under the university’s four-point grading system.
