Final project work is an essential academic requirement in the fourth year of the BBS program. It is designed to expose students to organizational reality and connect academic learning with practical business situations.
Students complete field work by studying and learning from an organization during the time fixed by the campus or college. After field work, they prepare a project report in the format prescribed by the Faculty of Management and submit it for evaluation.
Students may also be asked to present the report to the class or faculty members. The project report is evaluated by a team of external and internal examiners appointed by the Research Committee of the respective campus or college. The final viva-voce examination is conducted by the Research Committee of the concerned campus or college.
The BBS program uses teaching methods that help students understand the realities of Nepalese business, industry, and government. These methods include lectures, group discussions, problem-solving exercises, guest lectures, practical work, and project work.
Case-based instruction is also encouraged where appropriate. These methods help students connect theoretical concepts with real organizational issues and practical decision-making.
The final evaluation of students is conducted through the annual examination by the Office of the Controller of Examinations, Tribhuvan University.
Students must have a minimum of 70 percent attendance in classes actually held to qualify for the annual examination. Students are also required to pass theoretical, practical, and project work examinations separately in all courses that include these components.
No student is allowed to appear in the second-year final examinations without first appearing in the first-year final examinations.
The grading system in the annual examination is as follows:
Third Division: 35 percent
Second Division: 45 percent
First Division: 60 percent
