Kathmandu, 2082 Falgun 4 - The 17th National Children’s Drama Festival has concluded.
Organized by Shaili Theater, the Russian Cultural Center, and Ojas Theater, the festival ran for one week and concluded on Saturday, 14th February 2026 (Falgun 2, 2082).
From among the 18 plays staged at the festival, the best play and artists were selected and awarded.
Individual awards

From Mrigashira World School’s play ‘Seto Jutta’, Aditya Shrestha received the ‘Jury Award’.

From Medhashree School’s play ‘Yashasvi Bhava’, Shobhit Tamang won the ‘Udiyman Abhineta’ award.

From Mount Herman Children Academy’s play ‘Shravan Versus Kumar’, Nista Dhimal received the ‘Utkrista Abhinetri’ award, and from the same play, Jivan Baral received the ‘Utkrista Nirdeshak’ award.

From Redstar Secondary School’s play ‘Raat Chirne Bhanu’, Kavya Baral received the ‘Utkrista Abhineta’ award.
Group award and competition results

In the group category, Mahendra Aadarsha Madhyamik Vidyalaya’s play ‘Hami Eutai Haun’ was given the title ‘Udiyman Natak’ (Emerging Play).

In the competition, Mrigashira World School’s ‘Seto Jutta’ was declared second (Second Runner-Up), and Medhashree School’s ‘Yashasvi Bhava’ was declared first (First Runner-Up).

Makalu Morang’s ‘Kamila ra Fatyangra’ received the ‘Utkrista Natak’ (Best Play) award.
The winners were honored with cash prizes and certificates.
The festival jury panel included Ashanta Sharma and Kedar Shrestha.
