Bhimnagar Secondary School Concludes 66th Anniversary and Parents’ Day

Bhimnagar Secondary School, located in Bharatpur-20, concluded its 66th anniversary and Parents’ Day.
The anniversary was observed in the school premises as a two-day event on Sunday, featuring various cultural programs, scholarship distribution, a science exhibition, a PT demonstration, and prize distribution.
On the occasion of Martyrs’ Day, educational and sports awards were also distributed on January 30, 2026 [2082 Magh 16, BS].
Ward Chair Emphasizes Technology-Oriented Education
Inaugurating the program, Ward Chair Muktiprasad Ghale of Bharatpur-20 stressed that education should now be technology-oriented. Stating that today’s need is multidimensional education, he said skill-based and vocational learning should be advanced.
Annual Report Highlights Learning Environment and Quality Education
Presenting the school’s annual report, Principal Komalnath Ghimire said learning has been arranged through quality education in a safe, dignified, cooperative, and inclusive environment in line with the national objectives of education.
He said teaching began in 2016 BS after a petition was submitted during King Mahendra’s and Britain’s Queen Elizabeth’s visit to Chitwan, starting classes in the late Paharasih Ghale’s hut under the name “District Soldier Board Bageshwori Primary School.”
Crop Science Stream and “Learn While Earning” Program
The school began teaching Crop Science after receiving permission in 2074 BS. It was launched in Grade 11 in 2076 BS, and Crop Science is taught from Grades 9 to 12.
Principal Ghimire said the school has been running a “learn while earning” program. He said an agricultural shed has been built on the school’s practical farm, and students have benefited by learning topics including soil testing through laboratory and practical work.
He stated that students are taught income generation by producing agricultural crops within the school, which provides some financial support and helps students stay focused on practical work. He said Crop Science students form groups from Grade 9 and engage in vegetable and fruit production.
Endowment Funds and Awards
Principal Ghimire said the school has established an endowment fund worth Rs 2.1 million. He also said that Krishna Dawadi of Bharatpur-20 established an endowment fund of Rs 300,000 yesterday.

Individuals Honored and Scholarships Distributed
In the program, Principal Komalnath Ghimire and teachers Sabin Neupane, Shyamraj Lamichhane, Hemraj Poudel, Shobha Poudel, Binodraj Timilsina, Dipak Dawadi, Shantosh Bhandari, Sushila Kafle, Bikas Basnet, and canteen operator Shantisih Thakuri, among others, were honored.
The program was held under the chairpersonship of School Management Committee Chair Lokendra Gurung. Scholarships were distributed to poor, conflict-affected, and meritorious students from endowment funds established with the active involvement of various social figures, including former teachers.
Current Student Strength and Infrastructure
The school currently has 634 students. Accordingly, arrangements have been made for science and mathematics laboratories, a library, and computer classes.
The school has also started operating a school bus. Its physical infrastructure is being upgraded. The school has 38 classrooms and four RCC blocks.
The school has land measuring five bigha, nine kattha, and 17 dhur.
