CDC Workshop on Effective Curriculum Implementation in School Education Concludes
The Curriculum Development Centre (CDC) concluded an “Experience-Sharing Workshop on Curriculum and Its Effective Implementation” with experts and stakeholders on Friday to support the effective implementation of the school education curriculum. The centre, which has accelerated the curriculum framework revision process, held discussions with stakeholders in this context.
Around 50 people participated in the workshop, including members of the National Curriculum Framework Review Task Force; officials from the Ministry of Education and Sports, the Center for Education and Human Resource Development, the Education Review Office, and the Curriculum Development Centre; school principals; and teachers presenting exemplary practices.
Inaugurating the workshop, Curriculum Development Centre Director General Yubaraj Paudel said that sharing experiences, challenges, and successful practices in curriculum implementation was essential to improving the quality of school education. Similarly, Chudamani Paudel, Secretary at the Ministry of Education and Sports, presented his views on the policy direction of school education and priorities for curriculum reform.
The participants were divided into different groups to discuss various topics. The group discussions examined practices, challenges, policy needs, and recommendations for improvement related to “Voice of Youth,” “Book-Free Friday,” the “Nepali Education System,” A Level, “IB Continuum,” and CBSE schools.
Similarly, during a panel discussion held in the afternoon session, Dr. Lav Dev Awasthi, Dr. Hari Lamsal, Dr. Bishwabala Thapa, and Dr. Lekhnath Paudel shared their views on curriculum implementation experiences, policy reforms, and the possibilities for transforming school education.
During the closing session, Dr. Meenakshi Dahal and Professor Dr. Bal Chandra Luitel highlighted the workshop’s main conclusions and recommendations, as well as the future course of action. They expressed confidence that such experience-sharing programmes would make an important contribution to improving the quality of school education, supporting evidence-based policymaking, and ensuring the effective implementation of the curriculum.
