Chandidanda Secondary School Holds 67th Anniversary and Parents’ Day

Pokhara, Magh 10 — The 67th anniversary and Parents’ Day ceremony of Chandidanda Secondary School, located at Phedikhola Rural Municipality–1, Matikhana, Syangja, has been successfully concluded.

Local Government Focus on Education Investment

At the ceremony, Rural Municipality Chairperson Ghanshyam Subedi stated that the municipality has made significant investment in the education sector. He informed that, through this investment, programs such as IT teacher management, a local curriculum, AI technology, One School–One Enterprise, and One Student–One Bank Account have been implemented.

Rural Municipality Vice Chairperson Devkumari Gurung mentioned that positive results of investment in education have begun to appear, and noted that the role of parents is important in this process.

Commitments and Support from Guests

Ward Chairperson Dipak Subedi of Pokhara Metropolitan City–21 stated that although there are some difficulties in budget management as the school lies on the municipal boundary, the educational quality is good and necessary support will be provided.

Social worker Dr. Chandrabahadur Gurung discussed the school’s establishment, historical background, and its 52 ropani land, and expressed commitment to provide continuous support in the future. Ward Chairperson Amrit Kshetri of Phedikhola–1 praised students’ musical performances, scout activities, and karate demonstrations, and stated that teachers and the School Management Committee have an important role in these achievements.

Similarly, Engineer Krishna Gurung praised the school’s programs and mentioned the need to continue increasing the endowment fund. Former Under Secretary Padambahadur Thapa also expressed commitment to continue cooperation with the school.

School Management Committee Emphasis on Parent Participation

School Management Committee Chairperson Narayan Prasad Sharma Subedi stated that greater parental participation is still necessary, and shared that he has been actively working to increase coordination among teachers, students, and parents.

Annual Report and Financial Update

During the program, Principal Amrit Shrestha presented the annual report related to academic activities, administration, physical infrastructure, and extracurricular activities. Accounts teacher Narayan Pokhrel provided information on the school’s financial condition.

Cultural Programs and Exhibitions

The main attractions of the anniversary event included:

• March-past by the scout team

• Science and educational exhibition

Students presented a welcome song, children’s songs, dance, drama, and various cultural performances. On the same occasion, the school’s bulletin, “Chandidanda Pratibimba,” was also officially launched.

Honors and Scholarship Distribution

At the ceremony, endowment fund donors, school well-wishers, outstanding teachers, students who performed excellently in the President Running Shield, and student Neha Gurung, who became the municipality topper in the Class 12 examination, among others, were honored.

Likewise, scholarships were distributed to students who achieved excellence in various fields.

Program Chairing and Conduct

The program was held under the chairpersonship of School Management Committee Chairperson Subedi. Assistant Principal Kulchandra Paudel and student Deepa Kshetri delivered the welcome remarks.
