District Post Office Dailekh Announces Secondary School-Level Letter Writing Competition
District Post Office, Dailekh, is organizing a secondary school-level letter writing competition on the occasion of the 152nd World Post Day, which falls on October 9, 2026.
The office published a notice on 2083 Ashwin 9, inviting students from schools across Dailekh district to participate in the competition.
Competition Topic and Eligibility
The topic of the competition is:
“Past and Present Status of Postal Services and Future Prospects”
Students studying in Grades 9 to 12 at community and institutional secondary schools in Dailekh district are eligible to participate.
According to the notice, a maximum of two students from each school may take part in the competition.
Rules and Submission Procedure
Language and Word Limit
The letter must:

Be written in the Nepali language

Not exceed 1,000 words
Evaluation Criteria
The letter must:

Follow the conventional letter-writing format
-
Be handwritten
-
Be original
-
Include at least 10 suggestions for improving postal services
Including at least 10 suggestions for postal service improvement is a mandatory requirement.
How to Prepare and Send the Letter
Participating students must clearly mention the following information in their letter:

Grade currently studying

Name of the school

Contact number
-
Address
The letter must be addressed to the District Post Office, Dailekh.
Participants must place the letter in an envelope and affix a Rs. 10 postage stamp on the outside of the envelope before sending it.
Submission Deadline and Location
Students wishing to participate must register their letters by 2083 Ashwin 19 at either:

District Post Office, Dailekh
Only letters registered within the prescribed deadline will be included in the evaluation.
Prize Details
The District Post Office has stated that the best-performing students will receive cash prizes and certificates on the occasion of World Post Day.

Objectives of the Competition
The main objective of the competition is to help students understand the past and present condition of postal services and collect their views and suggestions on how postal services can be made more effective in the future.
The office has also identified the following objectives:

Collect suggestions for developing the postal service as a “Government Courier Service” and “Smart Post”
