Music Jatra–Khwopa to Be Held in Bhaktapur on Mangsir 12
The musical festival “Music Jatra–Khwopa” will be held at Sallaghari Ground in Bhaktapur on the upcoming Mangsir 12. At a press conference held on Wednesday, 14 Ashoj, 2083, it was announced that the festival is being jointly organized by Drishtikon, Loopix Entertainment, and The Royal Events.
According to the organizers, the event will focus on social responsibility alongside musical entertainment. Fifty percent of the commercial income generated from sponsorships and stall rentals, as well as all donations received directly through digital channels, will be handed over to the Community-Based Rehabilitation Organization (CBRO), Bhaktapur.
Established in 2042 BS (1985 AD), CBRO has long been working for the rights and education of children with disabilities and for the development of an inclusive society.
At the festival, Kuma Sagar and The Khwopa Band will give their first large-scale performance in Bhaktapur. The source describes the group as presenting a blend of “Loktantra” and modern music. Rock band Mukti and Revival, along with Niva Dangol and Chabahi Dabu, will also perform at the festival.
In addition to musical performances, the event will feature Devi Naach, Kwancha Naach, Jangali Naach, and Khicha Naach as part of efforts to preserve Newa culture.
According to the organizers, a special Dhime dance performance featuring 50 Dhime musicians and 100 female dancers will be one of the main attractions of the festival.
