Discussion on Novel Vibishara by Chhavi Vairagi

Discussion and Reading of Novel Vibishara

A discussion and creative reading of novelist Chhavi Vairagi Ghimire’s second novel “Vibishara” has been held. The discussion and reading of the novel was organised in Syangja as the 37th step of the creative campaign “Alternative Path, Distinct Steps, Creative Campaign 2076, Syangja,” in the context of the sixth anniversary of the Literary Renaissance in Syangja.

Born in present Temkemaiyung Rural Municipality–6, Bhojpur, metrical poet and fiction writer Chhavi Ghimire is currently engaged in creative work while residing in Sundarharaicha Municipality–9, Biratchowk, Morang.

Having completed formal studies up to the Acharya (master’s) level in Sanskrit, Vairagi Ghimire’s “Vibishara” is the second novel. After working for a decade as a radio communicator, Ghimire now holds leadership roles in around a dozen literary organisations.

Also known as a practitioner, Ghimire has had around a dozen different literary works published. “Vibishara,” which takes as its central theme the idea that supernatural love has not yet died in the world and that, if one can believe, there is a stronger and happier life beyond it, has been published by Phoenix Books, Kathmandu.

In the first phase of the programme, speakers Laxmi Prasad Regmi and Shanta Thapa presented critical remarks focused on the novel “Vibishara,” while novelist Chhavi Vairagi Ghimire presented an authorial statement.

The informally organised programme was coordinated by young poet and literary activist Milan Samir. In the second phase of the programme, Syangja-based creators Bishnu Pangeni Pandey, Bodhraj Nyaupane, Raju Gaire, Leela Prasad Regmi, Agni Kumar Regmi Pallav, Kamal Prasad Bagale, Indra Prasad Pathak, Jhawanath Basyal, Damakumari Bagale, Yubaraj Subedi, Basanta Khanal, Prem Prasad Subedi, Dilip Tiwari, Dhal Bahadur K.C., Lekhnath Kafle, Shambhu Aryal, Ananta Aryal, Dhruva Prasad Sharma Pangeni, Yubaraj Subedi and others read their own creations.
