Former Vice-Chancellor of the Academy of Music and Drama and senior theatre practitioner Harihar Sharma said publishing eight books at once is significant, and noted that the published books are timely.
“The content should be the kind that appeals to the minds of the targeted class or age group, and the children’s literature books launched today have covered these themes,” he said.
Former editor of the National News Agency Pramod Pradhan emphasized that, rather than relying only on our own views about children’s literature, attention should be given to global practices and concepts. He said the writing approach in children’s literature should focus on children’s interests and their psychology.
While reviewing the launched books, Professor Dr. Govinda Paudel said that yesterday’s history has been presented in a simple and artistic way.
Regarding the work Dedh Gagariya, writer Krishna Raj Sarbahari said that, as the book contains five folk tales, it would have been even more appropriate if songs matching the context of the stories had also been included.
He said the book would be suitable for children of the Tharu community.
