Preparations Complete for Third University Sports Competition
Kathmandu, Magh 20. Preparations have been completed for the third University Sports Competition, which will begin in Dhulikhel from Thursday under the organization of the National Sports Council (Rakhep).
The competition has been held with a focus on students under the age of 28 who are studying at universities. The university sports event, co-organized by Kathmandu University and Nepalaya International Pvt. Ltd., will see participation from nine universities.
Sponsorship Agreement
Co-organizer Nepalaya has signed a sponsorship agreement with KIEC Education Consultancy. The sponsorship agreement was signed between Nepalaya Chairman Subas Chandra Pradhan and KIEC Education Consultancy Founder CEO Rajendra Rijal.
On the occasion, Rijal said he was pleased to be able to collaborate with the sports sector, which the country takes pride in, and stated that KIEC Education Consultancy has been associated with the development of Nepali sports for a long time.
Nepalaya Chairman Pradhan said competitions like university sports are important for the development of Nepali sports.
Sports Included in This Edition
This edition will feature competition in five sports:

Volleyball
Athletics Events
In athletics, four events will be held for both men and women:

100 meters
-
200 meters
-
400 meters
-
Long jump
Badminton, Table Tennis, and Basketball Formats

Badminton and table tennis will include men’s and women’s singles and doubles.

Basketball will include the men’s and women’s three-on-three format.
Volleyball, Athletes, and Prizes
Head of the Sports Competition and Planning Department at Rakhep, Meen Kumar Sharma, said volleyball will be held only in the men’s (students) category. Sharma also said participation of 279 athletes has already been confirmed.
If foreign nationals are studying at any university, they will also be allowed to compete. In both team and individual categories, gold medal winners will receive a cash prize of NPR 3,000 each.

Head of the Publicity Section, Khush Raj Dahal, said the competition will be contested for a total of:

The games of the two-day competition will be held within the premises of Kathmandu University in Dhulikhel.
