Vajraguru Dungdup Puja Held in Humla

Vajraguru Dungdup Puja by Himalayan Lama Community

The Himalayan Lama community has organized a Vajraguru Dungdup Puja.

Chhiring Lama of Simkot Rural Municipality–3 stated that this puja is conducted to maintain peace among living beings and in society.

Purpose and Participation

During the puja, the lama delivered a sermon to the devotees, advising them to refrain from killing and wrong deeds, and to remain committed to religion.

The puja was organized with the participation of 40 priest lamas from various settlements of the Lama community in Humla district.

The special concluding rituals were performed on the final day of the five-day-long puja.

Devotees, Offerings and Use of Funds

According to Lama, more than one thousand devotees took part in the puja.

It was reported that each day devotees voluntarily offered between two lakh and two and a half lakh rupees, and a total of twelve lakh rupees was collected.

Lama stated that the amount collected from the puja will be used to construct a stage or statues for the monastery (gumba).
