Hero MotoCorp’s Electric Brand VIDA Launches in Nepal
VIDA, the electric two-wheeler brand operated by Hero MotoCorp, has announced its official entry into Nepal as its first international market. The company stated that its launch in Nepal marks the beginning of VIDA’s global expansion.
Considering the lifestyles and needs of Nepali consumers, the company will introduce the VIDA VX2 electric scooter range and the VIDA DRT-E K-3 electric off-road motorcycle aimed at younger riders. These products will be officially sold and distributed in Nepal through CG Motors, a company under the Chaudhary Group.
Designed for daily commuting, the VIDA VX2 electric scooter focuses on advanced technology, extended range, strong performance, and quality. The company claims that the scooter achieved a high ranking in a J.D. Power study. It will be available in Nepal in two variants: the VX2 Plus and VX2 Go.
Developed with Nepal’s uphill roads and challenging conditions in mind, the VX2 Plus has two removable 2.2 kWh batteries with a combined capacity of 4.4 kWh. According to the company, the scooter can provide a real-world range of approximately 140 kilometres and reach a maximum speed of 90 kilometres per hour. It can accelerate from zero to 40 kilometres per hour in 3.1 seconds and can be charged from zero to 80 percent in 65 minutes using fast-charging technology.
The VX2 Go has one removable 2.2 kWh battery. The company states that it can provide a real-world range of approximately 75 kilometres and reach a maximum speed of 70 kilometres per hour. It can accelerate from zero to 40 kilometres per hour in 4.2 seconds and can also be charged from zero to 80 percent in 65 minutes.
The batteries of both models can be charged at home using a standard five-ampere electrical socket. According to the company, the scooters also provide vehicle status information, maps, geofencing, phone and message notifications, and automatic over-the-air system updates through a mobile application.
The VIDA DRT-E K-3 is an electric off-road motorcycle designed primarily for teenage and young riders. It can be adjusted to three different sizes according to the rider’s age and physical build and includes a parental speed-control feature.
Parents can set the motorcycle’s speed at approximately 8 to 9 kilometres per hour, 17 to 18 kilometres per hour, or 23 to 24 kilometres per hour, depending on the rider’s needs. The motorcycle has a 350-watt motor and a removable battery.
According to the company, the motorcycle can operate for up to three hours, depending on road conditions and the selected speed mode. Charging the battery from 20 percent to 80 percent takes approximately two hours.
The motorcycle received the 2025 Red Dot Design Award and the 2026 CES Innovation Award. The company clarified that the stated range, speed, and charging times were measured through internal testing and that actual performance may vary depending on road and weather conditions.
