Ministry Requests World Yoga Day 2026 to Be Marked with Various Programs
The Government of Nepal, Ministry of Education and Sports, has requested all yoga-related associations and organizations to mark World Yoga Day 2026 with various creative, promotional, and publicity-oriented programs.
The Ministry’s Early Childhood Education and School Nutrition Section sent a letter dated 2083/02/26, stating that World Yoga Day has been observed every year on June 21.
This year, the 12th World Yoga Day 2026 will be observed with the motto “Yoga for Healthy Ageing.”
A meeting of the World Yoga Day 2026 Main Ceremony Preparation Committee, chaired by the Education Secretary, decided to request yoga-related organizations to observe the day through programs such as film screenings, book launches, blood donation, public dialogues, morning rallies, lamp lighting, rallies, cultural processions, mass yoga practice, yoga demonstrations, elocution, debate competitions, and painting.
The Ministry has requested that information about such programs be provided within office hours on 2083 Ashar 1. After the completion of the programs, it has also asked organizations to submit a report to the Ministry, including the number of participants, major activities, and achievements.
