National Information Technology Center (NITC)

National Information Technology Center (NITC) under the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Government of has been providing various government services such as Consultancy Services, Domain registration, Email Service, Gate Pass System, Government Network Management, Human Resource Training, Internet Service, Public IP Service, Server Colocation, Software Development, Video Conferencing Service, Virtualization and Cloud Service, Web Hosting and NITC Progress in Numbers.

Objective:

The main objectives of National Information Technology Center (NITC) are such as Creating and enhancing information technology in the general public, creating employment through technology, creating a Knowledge-Based Society, Establish knowledge-based industries and implementing electric-governance in Nepal.

Mission:

The mission of NITC is to build the focal point of the intuitive information technology to the village level, create a secure network, providing ICT Consulting Service, adjust new technology on social and economic development, improve information and knowledge capability, and determine the potential impact on the economy and society through ICT like Payment Gateway, E-Licenses.

Vision:

The vision of NITC is that means i.e. citizens and businesses will get all the government services (G2G, G2B, and G2C etc.) to get the most of the benefits, to facilitate the integrated electronic system from the traditional system.

Strategy:

The strategy of NITC is in the clean and competitive environment, the following information technology strategy has been adopted for achieving the objectives mentioned above mentioned above in the rapid development and expansion in detail and expansion.

• To develop ICT infrastructure for electrical-governance, such as - Integrated secure network
• The GIDC with the DRC and many load balancers - Government Integrated Mail, CMS, and Payment Gateway System
• Implementation of services under electrical-governance
• Technology exploration and experiment
• Technology Assessment and Forecast (providing an environment for responsible information systems)
• To build capacity for fast, low-cost, effective and quality electrical-governance service
• To expand, research, and develop information technology in the private sector's participation with high priority
• To prepare skilled manpower in the involvement of both public and private sectors for sustainable development and information technology
• To encourage indigenous and foreign investment for infrastructure development of information technology and information technology
• Legal recognition and promotion of electronic business
• To assist in electronic governance (e-governance) by using information technology, Use of information technology in the development of rural areas and increasing industry related information technology.
