NMB Bank Limited was incorporated in 2008 AD as an “A” class financial institution licensed by Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB). NMB has been operating in the Nepalese Financial market for over 20 years and is one of the leading commercial banks in the banking industry.

NMB Bank has a Joint Venture Agreement with Nederlandse Financierings-Maatschappij Voor Ontwikkelingslanden (FMO), wherein FMO holds twenty percent of the Bank’s shares and the largest shareholder of the Bank. In 2016, the NMB signed a Joint Venture Agreement with Nederlandse Financierings-Maatschappij Voor Ontwikkelingslanden (FMO), the Dutch development bank following which FMO became the single largest shareholder of the Bank. NMB Bank was awarded the 'Bank of the Year – 2017 and 2018' by The Banker, Financial Times London.
