Author Acharya Kamal Rijal’s Book ‘Darshanagar’ Launched

The book ‘Darshanagar’, written by author Acharya Kamal Rijal, has been launched. The book was unveiled at a program organized by Shikha Books Pvt. Ltd. in the capital on Saturday.

Former Editor-in-Chief of Gorkhapatra Daily Shreeom Shrestha ‘Rodan’, litterateur Shailendra Adhikari, Dr. Nawaraj Lamsal, Bhagawat Dhakal, and author Acharya Kamal Rijal jointly launched the book.

Speaking at the program, litterateur Shailendra Adhikari said that ‘Darshanagar’ covers Eastern philosophy and Islamic philosophy and that the author has also propounded his own philosophy in the book. Recalling that he himself had studied philosophy only to pass the university curriculum, Adhikari said the book’s practical, narrative, and dialogue-based style would make philosophy easier to understand even for readers who have just begun studying the subject.

Writer and former Editor-in-Chief Shreeom Shrestha ‘Rodan’ said reading the book felt like cracking open and eating a walnut. He said that although a walnut initially seems hard, the kernel inside is sweet, and expressed confidence that ‘Darshanagar’ would help readers understand philosophy in its broader dimensions. He also claimed that Rijal, who has been writing in the fields of philosophy and spirituality for a long time, has not received due recognition.

Similarly, Bhagawat Dhakal discussed how Eastern philosophy gives primacy to discernment while Western philosophy gives primacy to matter, and said that philosophy is the answer to inquiry. Stating that philosophy is worth collecting and reading at every stage of life, he expressed the view that the book would be suitable for readers interested in a comparative study of Eastern and Western philosophy.

At the program, Dr. Nawaraj Lamsal said that Rijal, who has already published 21 books on spirituality and philosophy, has produced a work that will encourage every reader to question themselves.

Author Acharya Kamal Rijal clarified that the word ‘Acharya’ written before his name is an academic title he earned through study. Stating that ‘Darshanagar’ is the result of around 10 years of study and writing, he urged readers to read the book and provide their feedback.
