Kathmandu, Magh 18, 2082 — On the occasion of the 41st anniversary of Arunima Educational Institution in Kathmandu, six individuals, including the Chief Secretary, were honored.

At the “Distinguished Personality Felicitation” program organized by the school today, the Government of Nepal’s Chief Secretary Suman Raj Aryal; News 24 Daily’s Editor-in-Chief Navaraj Chalise; social worker Nepaljit Lama; Sarbajit Lama; Khadgajit Lama; and Tribhuvan University Central Library Chief Sagar Raj Subedi were honored as distinguished personalities.

In addition, teacher Harshanarayan Jha and staff member Manju Adhikari Dhakal were felicitated with a 20-year long-service honor.

According to Arunima Educational Institution, the honors were presented jointly by the chief guest Prof. Dr. Abhi Subedi and the institution’s Chairperson Bhimananda Dhungana, among others.

At the beginning of the program, tribute was offered in honor of all known and unknown martyrs. The institution’s Executive Principal Ishwari Prasad Lamichhane provided information on the programs and effectiveness of the educational bodies operated through the institution.

During the same ceremony, members of the school’s first batch (2051) who sat for the SLC—Prabin Neupane, Bindiya Manandhar, Manish Khanal, Sulakshan Sharma, Saroj Subedi, Gajendra Karmacharya, and Menuka Gurung—were also felicitated in high appreciation of their contributions at the national and international levels.

Chief Secretary Aryal, who was among those honored, extended best wishes on the institution’s anniversary and praised Arunima for continuing to provide its students with quality and life-relevant education.

Parashwar Dhungana, Secretary at the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, stated that interactions with senior figures associated with Arunima further encouraged him in performing his responsibilities in his field of work.

Jitendra Shrestha, Secretary of Arunima Paropakar Pratishthan, highlighted the importance of quality education in building a civilized society.

Chairperson Bhimananda Dhungana informed that the institution is being operated on a non-profit basis and expressed a commitment to develop timely plans and leave no effort unspent in providing quality education.

Students also presented engaging songs and dances during the program.
