Five British Model College Students Receive the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Bronze Award
Kathmandu: Five students from The British Model College (BMC) have received the Bronze Award under the globally prestigious youth development programme, ‘The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award (DoEIA) 2026’.
The award recipients are Arya Gurung, Marisha Devi Gurung, Neir Amatya, Siyana, and Shashank Jha.
They were formally honoured at the ‘National Award Ceremony 2026’, organised by The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Nepal. The ceremony was held on Monday, Shrawan 4, 2083 BS, at Alice Reception in Gairidhara, Kathmandu.
Bronze, Silver, and Gold Award recipients from across the country were honoured at the event in recognition of their hard work, perseverance, commitment to personal development, and contribution to community service.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is a globally recognised personal development programme for young people aged 14 to 24. It encourages participants to learn new skills, remain physically active, contribute to community service, and develop their personalities through adventurous journeys.
The Bronze Award is regarded as an important achievement in participants’ journey of sustained effort, discipline, and personal development.
Congratulating the students on their achievement, Arun said on behalf of the BEG Board and the college management:
“Your hard work, dedication, and commitment have made us all proud. Your achievement has become a source of inspiration for other students. We wish you even greater success in the days ahead.”
The college also expressed special gratitude to Mr. Rajan Kumar Rai for providing the students with the guidance and continuous support required to achieve this recognition.
The British Model College stated that it gives equal priority to students’ overall personality development alongside academic excellence. The college encourages students to participate actively not only in academic activities but also in extracurricular and character-building programmes.
According to the college, such programmes help students develop into confident, capable, and socially responsible future leaders.
