Curriculum Development Centre (CDC) Awaiting Court Decision to Implement New Curriculum of Class 11:

There is confusion about whether to teach the new or old curriculum in class 11 starting from the current academic session. Although the government has decided to implement a new curriculum in class 11 from the current academic session and has circulated it, the issue is under consideration in the court. The Supreme Court has issued an interim order not to implement the new curriculum on the 19th of Kartik. In this case, there is confusion over whether to teach new or old.

In this state of confusion, it has been found that the school teaches new or old curriculum on its own.

From this time, social and life skills education has been added as a compulsory subject in class 11. In addition, three subjects have been made compulsory in class 11. In the old syllabus, only two subjects, English and Nepali, were compulsory subjects. Along with the government's preparations to teach according to the new curriculum, the Janak Education Materials Center has also published books on all the three compulsory subjects of class 11 this time.

Class 11, which began in Shrawan in the past, has been delayed this year due to the Corona epidemic, but it remains to be seen when the academic session will begin.

The government had also issued a written instruction on Kartik 3 to make the new curriculum taught in class 11. In it, the government warned to take action if the old syllabus is taught and asked to monitor it.

Officials at the Curriculum Development Center, on the other hand, are hopeful that the court will resolve the issue of class 11 curriculum dispute, in which millions of students study. Director-General of the Curriculum Development Center, Keshav Dahal, said that they have already submitted the necessary evidence to the court to settle the matter expeditiously.

The Supreme Court is expected to take some time to resolve the issue; Director-General Dahal said that he felt that a way out should be found after discussing with the Minister of Education, Science and Technology and the Secretary.
